The Community Hub at Northfield is a unique community resource for the NE Denver region. It contains a bike library as well as many useful materials such as walking and biking maps of the area; RTD bus and light rail schedules; informational pamphlets on programs like Bike to Work Day, Be Well, car share companies, carpool and vanpool options; and snazzy swag such as free sunglasses, walking and biking pins, and other cool items to help you make a statement about your personal commitment to alternative transportation.
Another unique feature of the Hub is that we share our space with a Denver Police Department “Cop Shop” where the public can come to pick up materials on neighborhood safety, report crimes in the area, and get contact info for the officers in charge of our district. Our staff are trained Police Department Volunteers who can answer your questions or put you in touch with someone who can.
If you’d like to use our space for a community meeting, class, or organizational meeting, please email HubNorthfield@gmail.com. We have a suggested donation of $50 per hour to use the Hub.
The Bicycle Library
Want a great way to get some healthy outdoor exercise while doing your part to keep your community on the right path to a greener future? Check out a bicycle from our Bicycle Library! Take it for a spin, then share the exhilarating “re-cycling” idea with your neighbors.
All bicycles are available free of charge to members for up to 48 hours before renewal is required. Members contribute eight hours of volunteer service per year at the Hub or at bicycle parking on Sundays at the Stapleton Farmers Market. A $20 donation to the Bicycle Library gets you a year-long membership and a free helmet!
Come visit us to sign up for this unique program and to find out more about our biking events.
