RTD granted 90-day extension for A and B Lines

KUSA – The Federal Railroad Administration has granted the Regional Transportation District a 90-day waiver extension to allow the A and B lines to continue operating while they work to fix malfunctioning crossing gates and other issues.

The University of Colorado A Line has operated under a temporary waiver from the FRA since it opened on April 22. The waiver was set to expire on Nov. 5 — three weeks later than an earlier deadline that was extended by the FRA.

‘duct-work: Transforming the I-70 Viaduct – Saturday, Oct. 1

‘duct-work is what happens when you combine talented Denver urban artists with ample paint and large blank walls as canvases. Denver Arts and Venues, together with local sponsors, has provided funding for a group of local urban artists to paint murals under the I-70 viaduct between Brighton Boulevard and York Street from Sept. 27 through Oct. 1. The project will transform the dark and shadowy viaduct into a work of art for the remaining years before its demolition.

On Saturday, Oct. 1, the artists will be on site completing their work. Please stop by to see the transformation while enjoying
